FLIGHT SCIENCES AND AIR TRANSAT ANNOUNCE COMPLETION OF FUEL CONSERVATION PROGRAM SAVING MILLIONS ANNUALLY

SANTA BARBARA, CA                                                                                       5/03/04

With skyrocketing fuel costs, airlines are looking to the experts in fuel conservation programs to maintain their competitive edge and protect their profits.  Flight Sciences International, the leading developer of fuel conservation and cost savings programs for the international airlines industry, today announced the completion of their initial phase implementation fuel conservation program for Canada's Air Transat, the popular Vacation Airline.  Initiated in early 2003 by Air Transat's executive offices, the Fuel Conservation Program "is a priority in the current environment where we must do everything to control costs, especially given that fuel remains the company's greatest expenditure," said Allen B. Graham, President of Air Transat.

After an internal audit yielded several effective fuel conservation initiatives, Air Transat quickly pursued a comprehensive program, calling on Flight Sciences, the leader in fuel conservation programs in the airline industry.  FSI's team of experts in flight and ground operations, aircraft design and performance, and process control optimization, completed a detailed study of Transat's fuel use to develop an effective, customized fuel savings program.

While their internal programs were saving hundreds of thousands of dollars per year, Flight Sciences team employed additional analysis, technologies, and products to create a customized program for Air Transat that will save them several million dollars of additional fuel cost each year.  "We have assisted many of the world's major carriers, all of which had some level of internal fuel use optimization programs in place prior to Flight Sciences involvement," said Dwight Buck, V.P. of Business Development for the company.  "Yet in every case we were able to apply our experience, technologies and analysis, and partner products to save each client far more than their internal programs were yielding, by as much as ten percent per year."

Flight Sciences' program was completed in September 2003, less than six months from initial contact by Air Transat, and resulted in total savings of nearly $5M dollars in fuel cost per year, exceeding the company's initial expectations by a factor of three.  After a period of six months of initial implementation, the Flight Sciences and Air Transat project team audited the company's performance and deployed additional savings techniques to further enhance the Air Transat program.

Flight Sciences provides complimentary fuel analysis reviews with airlines worldwide.  For more information about their custom programs you can reach them at 805-565-0995, or on the web at www.flightsciences.com and request informational brochures describing how Flight Sciences programs work, or to request an on-site visit.
